Shevchenko: 'Now is not the time for euphoria’'

Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko has said he believes that his teammates should not feel dizzy from success after Ukraine's 2-1 win over Sweden but seriously prepare for the next matches against France and England.

"This is a historic victory, but we have two extremely difficult games ahead of us. Now is not the time for euphoria," he said at a post-match press conference.

While speaking about how he scored two headers against Sweden, Shevchenko said: "I, as a striker, look for free space all the time. As for the first goal, I received an excellent pass from Andriy Yermolenko, and I was a second ahead of the defender. As for the second goal, we trained this combination. The ball went through a small hole, there was no other opportunity to score," Shevchenko said.

Shevchenko named Man of the Match after the Ukraine-Sweden game, and at a post-match press conference legendary Croatian soccer player Davor Suker handed him the Carlsberg Man of the Match prize.

Euro 2012 co-hosts Ukraine earned a 2-1 win over Sweden in their opening Euro 2012 match in Kyiv on June 11.
