Sweden coach says his team could have played better against Ukraine
Sweden coach Erik Hamrén has said he is dissatisfied with the performance of his side in their opening Euro 2012 match against Ukraine, and he believes that Sweden could have achieved a better result.
"Frankly speaking, I expected more from my team, and only fix or six players showed the required level of performance," he said at a post-match press conference in Kyiv.
"We played a very difficult game. The first half was not too interesting, and both teams were jittery. We started the second half much better, and we were more aggressive. We managed to use our chance and score a goal. Unfortunately, Ukraine managed to equalize very quickly. If a team manages to win back so quickly, it gains more strength. Now we have nothing to lose, and we have to fight on," Hamrén said.
As reported, Ukraine beat Sweden 2-1 in their opening Euro 2012 match in Kyiv on June 11.
