Celebration of Ukraine's victory over Sweden passes off smoothly - police

Ukrainian football fans celebrated boisterously their national squad's victory over Sweden in their opening match in the Euro 2012 group stage on Monday night, however no incidents have been reported.

"The police ensured the public order, everything passed off smoothly without incidents," Head of the public relations department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry Volodymyr Polischuk told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, the police prevented any violations in the fan zones of the Ukrainian host cities Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, and Donetsk.
