Survivors of plane crash outside Kyiv have moderate injuries, says Health Ministry
Those injured when a plane carrying parachutists made an emergency landing outside Kyiv on Sunday are in moderately grave condition, the Ukrainian Health Ministry reported.
Ten of the survivors are in the trauma unit of the regional clinical hospital No. 1, two are in the intensive care unit of Borodianka hospital, one at the multiple trauma department of Kyiv Emergency Hospital, and one at the Interior Ministry's hospital.
As reported, five people were killed and 15 sustained injuries when an L-410 plane of the Ukrainian Piloting School attempted an emergency landing during a parachute jump flight during heavy rain and severe wind gusts outside the town of Borodianka near Kyiv on Sunday.
The plane was carrying 17 parachute jumpers and three crewmembers, the ministry said.
The injured were hospitalized. An Austrian citizen, who was among those injured in the crash, requested to be taken to a private medical clinic.
An inquiry has been opened into the accident.
