Ukraine and Lithuania call on international partners to speed up and increase their military aid to Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluсkas have said in a joint statement following the Ukrainian-Lithuanian intergovernmental consultations on Friday.
"We call on our international partners to continue supporting Ukraine no matter what the victory over the Russian aggressor costs, noting the need to accelerate and increase the provision of military assistance to Ukraine by the entire international community, in accordance with Ukraine's needs, to lift any restrictions beyond those secured under international law and to ensure Ukraine's ability to effectively use the right to self-defense during 2025," they said in the statement.
The sides also emphasized the need for comprehensive support for joint defense cooperation projects between Ukraine and Lithuania, including joint production, financing of the Ukrainian defense industry, particularly within the framework of the Zbroyari initiative, localization of production or joint defense projects, joint efforts in demining and rehabilitation, exchange of experience in defense and civil protection of institutions and population.
