EBRD to conduct transactions under Chornobyl programs through Raiffeisen Bank Aval’s accounts, says NBU resolution
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) would conduct transactions in hryvnias under Chornobyl programs in Ukraine through accounts at Kyiv-based Raiffeisen Bank Aval.
This comes from NBU resolution No. 100 of February 28, 2009, which has been made available to Interfax-Ukraine.
The document comes into effect from the moment of its signing.
The NBU resolution stipulates a procedure for conducting certain transactions through EBRD correspondent accounts, which are opened in Raiffeisen Bank Aval, according to international agreements. The decision was made, taking into account a request of the EBRD.
This concerns a transaction to implement a framework agreement between Ukraine and EBRD on the activities of the Shelter Chornobyl Fund, an agreement on a grant for a project on nuclear safety of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and under ratified credit (guaranteed) agreements on the raising of funds from the EBRD denominated in foreign currency by the state or under state guarantees.
