Pension Fund gets UAH 2 b less in February because of bankruptcy of some enterprises
The debt to the Pension Fund of Ukraine in February exceeded UAH 2 billion because of the bankruptcy of a number of metallurgical and industrial enterprises, according to Oleksiy Zarudny, the board chairman in the Pension Fund,.
"Of course, it is an urgent issue. Metallurgical and industrial enterprises have the largest debts. Many issues are linked with these enterprises, in particular, with the fact that these enterprises are almost bankrupt, therefore the measures the Pension Fund [can apply] are limited, and the debt in February was over UAH 2 billion," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
At the same time, he said that the government under a number of resolutions approved schedules for paying debts to the Pension Fund.
"I think, we will be able to stick to the schedules…" he said.
However, Zarudny said that debts owned to the Pension Fund would not delay the paying of pensions to citizens.
