State enterprise Zorya-Mashproekt (Mykolaiv) has signed a contract with China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (Sinopec) to supply energy equipment for one of the fields being developed by the Chinese company, the company has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the contract, in the first half of 2013 Ukraine will supply five 16-megawatt gas turbines. The first two turbines will be shipped to the customer in the first quarter of 2013.

"The set of five turbines will be exploited as a autonomous energy source on the remote site of the field. A DT90 engine, a new product of Zorya-Mashproekt that consumes two types of fuel – gas and diesel fuel, will be used as the basis for the gas turbines," the company said.

The company told Interfax-Ukraine that representatives of Sinopec visited Zorya-Mashproekt in July 2011. The sides signed a first contract then.

Sinopec is the largest oil and gas processing company in China and the second in oil extraction in the country. It is among top ten largest oil and gas companies in the world.

Zorya-Mashproekt is a famous designer and producer of gas turbine equipment and a monopolist in the CIS in the design and production of gas turbines for navy ships.

Almost all of its products are exported. Its largest partners are Russia, Belarus, Iran, Singapore, India and China.

Since April 2011, Zorya-Mashproekt has been part of Ukroboronprom Concern.
