Azarov orders launch of additional trains for holidays
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has ordered the launching of additional trains on the most popular routes during the New Year and Christmas holidays.
According to the Web site of the Ukrainian government, he proposed that the train schedule be organized in such a way as to meet the real needs of passengers as much as possible. Changes to the schedule should be made depending on the time of day, the day of week, holidays, and the expected passenger flow for a specific period on a relevant route.
Azarov demanded constant monitoring of the situation and quick adjustments, taking into account changes in demand from passengers. There should not be situations when half-empty trains run on some routes and people cannot buy tickets for other routes, the premier said.
The premier made the Ukrzaliznytsia management responsible for the proper organization of passenger transportation.
