Ochakivsky wind farm to import ten wind generators made by Germany's Fuhrlander

Ochakivsky wind farm LLC (Mykolaiv region) is planning to import ten wind generating turbines made by Germany's Fuhrlander soon, the company's head, Oleksandr Scherbatiuk, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

He said that it is planned to import ten FL 2500-100 wind generating turbines with a capacity of 2.5 megawatts each. In addition, the FL-Scada system with the WP4000 software will be also imported.

Scherbatiuk said that the equipment would be used during the building of the second stage of the wind farm.

According to cabinet resolution No. 1219 of November 23, 2011 published on Friday, the equipment was put on a list of energy saving equipment that can be imported without having to pay customs duties and value added tax.

As reported, earlier Ochakivsky wind farm installed ten of Fuhrlander's turbines with capacities of 2.5 megawatts each. The company obtained a license from the National Energy Regulatory Commission (NERC) to generate electricity and plans to commission the first phase of the farm by late 2011.

In the future, the farm is planning to boost capacity to one gigawatt.
