Zaporizhia to construct two additional bridges across Dnipro River
Zaporizhia is considering the construction of two additional bridges across the Dnipro River from the northern and southern sides of the dam of the Dniprovska hydroelectric power station, director of municipal company Zaporizhia City Investment Agency Roman Taran has said.
"We plan to start work, [or] at least prepare pre-project documents, on two bridges – the northern and the southern," he told Interfax-Ukraine at the first main summit on the infrastructure and real estate of Ukraine's cities, which was held in Kyiv on December 1-2.
According to him, investment in each of the bridges will be equal to the investment in the bridge across the Dnipro River in Zaporizhia, which is under construction is to be completed in 2013.
"I think that since this bridge cost over $500 million, the cost of these bridges will be nearly the same," Taran said.
According to him, a number of investors have expressed interest in investing in the objects under the terms of concession agreements.
