Economy ministry to work on issues of revising import duties under WTO agreements
The interdepartmental working group headed by the Ukrainian government's commissioner for European integration, Valeriy Piatnytsky, by December 20, 2011 is to prepare well-grounded proposals regarding the possibility and appropriateness of revising Ukraine's tariff liabilities as a part of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
According to a posting on the Web site of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry on Tuesday, the decree on the creation of a working group to study the issues of amending import duty rates under WTO agreements was signed by First Vice Premier and Economic Development and Trade Minister Andriy Kliuyev.
The group will study the proposals of representatives of sector associations and Ukrainian business on revising Ukraine's tariff liabilities, as defined in a list of Ukraine's concessions and liabilities for specific types of goods in WTO agreements.
