Britain's Shanti Capital in talks on building civil airport in Lutsk on basis of military airport

Britain's Shanti Capital Ltd. is planning to build a civil airport in Lutsk on the basis of a military airfield.

Representatives of the company and Lutsk Mayor Mykola Romaniuk have discussed prospects for cooperation, the press service of Lutsk city council has reported.

Representatives of the company showed interest in opportunities for cooperation with the city, the development of the airport and adjacent transport infrastructure, and sending its of own specialists to realize the project.

Romaniuk said that a logistics center that will supply freight from China and the CIS state to Lutsk, and then by road to Europe, will be organized at the airport. In addition, Lutsk is interested in passenger transportation using small aircraft that could fly in Ukraine and the CIS states.

The sides also discussed the designing of the project for an airport for freight transportation and its certification. It will take seven months to design the project and certify the airport, while it will take nine months to draw up blueprints worth some UAH 5 million under an order of the company.
