Nemiroff, a Ukrainian alcoholic drinks producer, is selecting an alternative importer of its products to Russia, Chairman of the supervisory board of Nemiroff Ukrainian Vodka Company, Oleksandr Hlus, told Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
He said that Nemiroff is in talks with Russia's Moro and ILS and Megapolis Trade House (the Khortytsa, Shustov and Oreanda trademarks).
Hlus said that information in a media report on the replacement of the distributor is incorrect.
"It's important to understand that we're selecting an importer and we're not changing the model of distribution. We're in talks on the importer – a company that will supply Nemiroff's products to Russia and ship it to our Russian distributors," he said.
He also said that earlier the Russian representative office of Nemiroff fulfilled the function of the importer, although in the situation of a corporate conflict, the normal operation of the company has been paralyzed.
"The Moscow Trade House refuses to pay for product supplies, which made impossible further production and the supply of products to Russia through the representative office," Hlus said.
"On November 11, a meeting of participants of the Russian representative office was initiated to find a way out of the present situation, but unfortunately, it failed to take place, as the representatives of new leadership of the Moscow trade house and other participants did not come," he added.
A decision to select a new partner will be made in the near future, as it is very important for the company not to allow the disappearance of the brand from store shelves in Russia, he said.
