Government to put up for sale any deposits under PSA, says law

The Ukrainian cabinet will be able to put any deposits up for sale to sign a production sharing agreements (PSAs), irrespective of their presence in certain lists.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on November 14 signed the draft law on amendments to some Ukrainian laws regarding the list of deposits, which was passed by the Verkhovna Rada on October 21, 2011, the presidential press service has reported.

According to an explanatory note to the draft, now around 30 deposits on the special lists could be put up for sale. However, no PSA agreement has been signed for these deposits.

Synchronously with the inclusion of the deposits to the list, the state lost the possibility to issue permits to use the deposits on general basis. The new law removes the requirement.
