OJSC Kherson Shipyard has started fulfilling a contract with Italian offshore company Saipem to build six offshore structures with a total weight of 1,200 tonnes, according to a plant press release.
The structures will be used to unfasten a submarine pipeline.
The contract was signed on October 13, 2011. The period of its fulfillment is five months.
Offshore structures are rigs used for underwater oil and gas extraction.
Oil company Saipem has offshore and shore mining and drilling branches.
Kherson Shipyard was founded in 1951. Kherson Shipyard owns a 90.25% stake in Chornomorsky Shipbuilding Yard (Mykolaiv). Both companies are part of Smart Maritime Group belonging to Smart-holding, the owner of which is Vadym Novynsky.
The charter capital of Kherson Shipyard is UAH 125.2 million.
