The Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) called on the international grain business to stop cooperation with Russian business and the aggressor state of the Russian Federation due to its invasion of Ukraine and the buildup of military aggression.

The organization sent corresponding letters calling for stopping work on the Russian market to the first persons of international grain traders, including Vittera, OLAM, COFCO, LDC, ADM, Soufflet and others, according to the UGA website on Thursday.

The association called on international grain traders to immediately stop their activities in Russia, stop purchasing goods and services from it, stop supplying resources and goods to the Russian Federation, which is committing war crimes against Ukrainians, killing civilians, terrorizing the world with a new nuclear accident and shelling Europe's largest nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia region.

“Moreover, Russian troops are actively bombing agricultural enterprises, granaries and infrastructure facilities, seizing agricultural equipment and in every possible way hindering the sowing campaign in order to influence the disruption of world food security,” the UGA stressed in an open letter.

The association also called on grain traders to support the Ukrainian economy by buying feed grains, oilseeds, meal and oil from it, and thereby help the Ukrainian economy defend itself against Russian aggression and support the civilian population.

"The UGA is confident that the responsible actions of international business will help stop the unprecedented aggression against Ukraine," the association summed up in the appeal.

As reported, on March 4, the leading Ukrainian agrarian associations turned to international grain trading companies with a request to stop buying grain and any cooperation with the Russian Federation as an aggressor country.
