Vice Prime Minister, Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov has confirmed that the Olympiysky national sports complex in Kyiv will open on October 8, 2011, and the date cannot be postponed.
"The stadium management [will be fired if they] talk about any postponement. Therefore there cannot be any delays," he told reporters, when inspecting the progress of work on the stadium on Thursday.
Kolesnikov said that the opening ceremony would start at 2000 on October 8. Some 2,100 artists, volunteers and celebrities will take part in the ceremony.
