National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy hopes the decision on the introduction of fuel import duties will be made soon, Holding Board Chairman Yevhen Bakulin has said on Channel Five.
According to him, the government is working on measures to increase the share of fuel produced by Ukrainian oil refineries on the domestic market.
"The main task today is to avoid there being a rise in fuel prices, and not to pass these problems onto the shoulders of consumers when the program is implemented," he said.
"Therefore the government is thoroughly analyzing the situation, and we think that these issues will be resolved soon through the introduction of fuel import duties, without causing fluctuations on the fuel market," he added.
