TechnoNICOL Corporation (Moscow, Russia), one of the largest heat insulation producers in the CIS, is planning to increase its rock wool market share in Ukraine to at least 42% in 2011 from 33%.
"Today we control a third of the supply and in 2011 we're planning to reach at least 42%," the rock wool sales director at TechnoNICOL Corporation, Roman Kolesnikov, said at a plant in Cherkasy on Wednesday.
He said that the TechnoNICOL's share of the Ukrainian rock wool market as of late 2010 came to 33%, while for example, in 2006 all rock wool sold in Ukraine was imported.
The contraction insulation direction head at TechnoNICOL-marketing Ukraine (Kyiv), Oleksandr Shevchenko, said that in 2011 the heat insulation market in Ukraine would grow by 15%, to 1.8 million cubic meters.
Commenting on the operation of the corporation's work in Russia, Kolesnikov said that the corporation's share of the Russian heat insulation market is 38% today. The imports share of the Russian market, which is assessed at some one million tonnes per year, is no more than 10%, he added.
Kolesnikov also said that TechnoNICOL Corporation is planning to invest EUR 20 million in the development of its production in the CIS in 2011-2013, in particular, in the opening of production lines, research work and the development of its own sales chains. He did not disclose other details about the investment.
He said that the annual market growth in the CIS would come to 10%, and the corporation's share of the market would grow by 20-25% every year.
Working on the construction materials market since 1993, TechnoNICOL Corporation has been producing materials for hydro, thermal and acoustic insulation.
TechnoNICOL Corporation unites over 35 companies, including six plants and 14 rock wool production lines in Russia and Ukraine. The corporation has its own sales chain consisting of 140 branches, representative offices, around 60 independent dealers and dealer chains all over Russia, in the CIS, Baltic states and Europe (Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic and Turkey). The products are supplied to over 35 countries.
Kolesnikov said that the corporation's annual turnover totals around EUR 1 billion.
In Ukraine the corporation has been operating since 1997. It has a roll material plant in Dniprodzerzhynsk and a rock wool plant in Cherkasy.
