Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a law on Ukraine's joining the Convention on the Law Applicable to Traffic Accidents, the press service of the head of state reported on Thursday.
The law was approved by the Ukrainian parliament on June 15, 2011. The convention was signed on May 4, 1971; Ukraine is the 22nd state to join the convention.
Ukraine's joining the convention would help effectively resolve problems connected with people and property involved in traffic accidents. In addition, on joining the convention, Ukraine is now able to avoid legal conflicts connected with road accidents.
