The state-run enterprise Ukrecoresources is planning to spend UAH 60 million in 2011 on buying equipment required for the creation of a waste processing system (containers for the collection of solid household waste, dump trucks and sorting lines), reads a company press release issued on Monday.
The company said that the sum is foreseen in the annual plan for purchases in 2011 approved by the company's tender committee in late June.
The company said that expenses for the said purposes should be increased.
"First we planned UAH 60 million to buy the equipment, and now we're submitting a proposal to the government to double the figure," reads the release.
This year Ukrecoresources set the task of realizing separate solid household waste collection projects in Ukrainian cities, and for this containers, trucks and sorting lines are to be bought.
The press release says that Ukrecoresources is planning to increase waste processing and promote the efficient introduction of separate solid household waste collection this year.
According to the plan, it is expected to send UAH 22.4 million (as it was done in 2010) to subside companies that collect bottle and packaging materials and increase purchases of equipment for waste collection, sorting and processing.
The company told Interfax-Ukraine that the total sum of funds to be invested in the realization of projects on waste collection, sorting and processing amounts to UAH 108 million.
The report says that Ukrecoresources is the only official company selected by the government to provide for the organization of waste bottles and package collection and processing.
