State-run company LNG Terminal National Project is planning to officially announce on July 6 a tender for services to draw up a feasibility study for a LNG terminal, 2011, the head of the state agency for national projects management (Ukrnatsproekt), Vladyslav Kaskiv, said in Kyiv last week.
"Today we're announcing the first stage of the project. We're announcing a tender, which will be published on Wednesday in the the Visnyk Derzhavnykh Zakupivl newspaper," he said at a press conference.
He said that the tender will be held under a two-stage system: During the first, 30-day stage bidders are to confirm their professional and technical competence, their correspondence to the qualification criteria, and submit information on the terms of the drawing up of the feasibility study. In the second, 15-day stage the final bids will be selected.
Kaskiv said that the criteria for the assessment of bids are the following: The price in hryvnias and euros, the quality of realization, and terms.
He added that currently five sites for the construction of the terminal are being considered, in particular, a site near Odesa Port-Side Plant, a site near the oil depot of OJSC Ukrtransnafta (the two sites are located near the Yuzhny Port), a site near Ochakiv (Mykolaiv region), a site on the coast of the Berezansky firth (Mykolaiv region) and an offshore LNG terminal near Odesa.
