OJSC Zaliv Shipyard (Kerch, Crimea) has signed two new contracts on building of hulls for offshore vessels to service drilling platforms with Norway's Ulstein.
The company's press release told Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday that the shipyard will start working on the contracts in June. The value and the size of the order are not disclosed. Ships will be transferred to the customer in May 2010.
The ships will weigh around 2,00 tonnes, its length is 88.8 meters, its width is 19 meters and board height is 8 meters.
The press service said that the final customer of the project is Norway's Statoil-Hydro State Oil and Gas Corporation.
Kerch-based OJSC Zaliv shipyard and Norway's Ulstein announced a program for long-term cooperation, and signed a memo on cooperation in October 2007.
At present, the order book for Ulstein consists of four vessels. The first ship was transferred to the customer in October 2008. The next one will be transferred in December 2009.
