WESTA Corporation's accumulator plants boost production by 60% in 2010

Accumulator plants of Dnipropetrovsk-based WESTA International Scientific and Industrial Corporation produced four million accumulators worth over UAH 1 billion in 2010, which is 60% up on 2009.

According to a posting on the corporation's Web site, in 2005-2010 WESTA's plants made 14 million accumulators.

The company said that in 2010 it reinforced its strategic positions on the domestic and foreign markets. In particular, sales in Ukraine grew by 30% on 2009, while exports to the CIS and Europe jumped by 80%.

New countries, where the company started exporting its products, were Lithuania, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Iran, Afghanistan, Chili, Finland, Romania, Algeria, Egypt, Salvador and Lebanon.

The company said that today Austria's Battery Machine automatized production lines at WESTA Industrial plant reached production of four accumulators per minute, while in 2011 the indicator would be increased to six accumulators per minute.
