Max Alier is to be appointed the new head of the Resident Representative Office of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Ukraine, a source at the IMF told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Max Alier will be a new head, replacing Balázs Horváth," the source said, declining to give any other details about the new head.
As was reported earlier, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Balázs Horváth's plans to leave office became known in December 2008. He has been working in Ukraine since September 2007.
A regular IMF mission is to arrive in Ukraine on January 21, 2009.
