Zaporizhia NPP reactor three shut down for repairs

Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) disconnected its third reactor from the country’s electrical grid at 0003 on January 2 to conduct medium-term scheduled repairs, the press service of the national nuclear energy generating company Energoatom reported.

As of Tuesday morning, thirteen out of Ukraine’s fifteen nuclear reactors were operating.

Rivne NPP reactor three is undergoing medium-term scheduled repairs.

Radiation levels and the fire and environmental situations at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants are normal, Energoatom’s press service said.

Energoatom, Ukraine's nuclear power plant operator, runs the Zaporizhia, Yuzhnoukrainsk, Rivne and Khmelnytsky nuclear power plants, which together run 15 reactors with a total generating capacity of 13,835 megawatts.
