First Vice Premier of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has said that the Inter television channel belongs to the co-owner of RosUkrEnergo, Dmytro Firtash.
Turchynov was speaking during the program Freedom of Speech broadcast on Inter on January 16, speaking about the use of large-scale information resources by Gazprom in the gas dispute.
"Of course, the government does not own a [television] channel, including Inter, which belongs to Mr. Firtash. We have no such resources as Gazprom, to broadcast information that could be spread in Europe and our country, with all news agencies, including western ones," he said.
Firtash did not comment on Turchynov's claim.
