Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has identified a number of tasks for Kyiv's authorities to work on as part of the city's preparations for the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, and instructed that they ensure their implementation.
"Kyiv's authorities have the number of large-scale tasks as part of their preparations for Euro 2012: the development of Zhuliany International Airport, the construction of new transport interchanges, bridges and the reconstruction of the existing ones, the extension of the subway network, and many other things," he said at an event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Kyiv subway on Friday.
The president noted that all of these issues would be indicated in his order, which is to be signed after a review of the state of affairs in Kyiv on Friday.
