National JSC Naftogaz Ukrainy assesses the cost of the construction of a liquefied gas terminal with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas per year at some $2.5 billion, according to Naftogaz Deputy Board Chairman Vadym Chuprun.
"It would not be a mistake to expect $2.5 billion for [a capacity] of 10 billion cubic meters," he said at the 14th Oil and Gas international exhibition in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Chuprun forecasts that it would take around five years to build the terminal. He added that the terminal would be for joint use.
"The terminal would be for joint use, and it's not only for two participants - those who supply the resources and those who take [the gas], there would also be countries that would transit gas," he said.
Chuprun said that sources of liquefied gas supplies to the terminal could Algeria, Qatar, Egypt and Azerbaijan, with which talks are being held.
