Naftogaz raises price of gas in domestic market by 1.5%

Naftogaz Ukrainy, taking into account offers from the market participants, has increased the bid price for the purchase of natural gas from private gas producers of Ukraine in August this year by 1.5%, from UAH 8,088 to UAH 8,209 per 1,000 cubic meters (excluding VAT).

"Due to the fact that during the summer season, the demand for gas is traditionally low, Naftogaz did not receive a single offer from gas suppliers. Therefore the company increased the bid price for August," the company said.

In July Naftogaz announced a test purchase of gas at a price of UAH 7,629 per 1,000 cubic meters (excluding VAT), in June some UAH 6,900 per 1,000 cubic meters (excluding VAT).

Naftogaz also stated that according to resolution No. 187 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated March 22, 2017, the price of gas sales to meet the needs of the population is UAH 4,942 per 1,000 cubic meters.
