VTB Bank (Kyiv) intends to increase charter capital by UAH 2.592 billion, or by 7.6%, to UAH 36.808 billion through an additional issue of shares.

According to a bank press release, its shareholders will consider the relevant issue at a general meeting on October 23.

According to the report, all regulatory procedures related to capitalization will be completed in the first quarter of 2018.

"The increase in the capital of VTB Bank (Ukraine) will occur through the acquisition of additional shares by the bank for the funds that the parent bank will receive exclusively from repayment of interbank loans previously issued to the subsidiary Ukrainian bank," the statement said.

VTB Bank (formerly Bank Mriya) was founded in 1992. Its main shareholder is Bank VTB (Russia, 99.9959%).

VTB Bank ranked 16th among 88 Ukrainian banks as of July 1, 2017 in terms of total assets (UAH 14.019 billion), according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
