Border Guard Service jointly with Naftogaz spots illicit operations on rigs seized by Russia in Ukrainian Black Sea zone
The Ukrainian Maritime Defense Ship Hryhoriy Kuropiatnikov surveyed about 20 facilities in four gas fields seized by Russia in the exclusive (marine) economic zone of Ukraine in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.
The press service of the State Border Service reported on Saturday, September 9, the border guards together with representatives of Naftogaz Ukrainy, Chornomornaftogaz, the Military Prosecutor's Office, the Crimean Prosecutor's Office, the National Police in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the State Service for Geology and Deposits, the State Environmental Inspectorate, the Ministry for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine with the participation of the permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea conducted a survey of all operating deposits in the northwestern part of the Black Sea – Shtormove, Arkhanhelske, Holitsynske and Odeske fields.
Experts of Naftogaz Ukrainy and Chornomornaftogaz have confirmed that several facilities have equipment that eloquently confirms the work on the renewal, reinstallation or repair of mechanisms and devices, which means they were used for drilling operations. The process of drilling a well was recorded at the Crimea-1 drilling rig (illegally renamed "Ukraine") at the Odeske gas condensate field.
Under the Ukrainian legislation and the international law, the Ukrainian Marine Protection ship warned all facilities in all fields of recording an offense on their part and inadmissibility of continuing illegal activities in the exclusive (maritime) economic zone of Ukraine.
