Over half of polled pharmacies say participation in Affordable Medicines program not affect revenue

Around 54% of pharmacies members of the Pharmacy Professional Association of Ukraine (APAU) participated in a poll and joined the Affordable Medicine government-sustained program have said that the participation in the program has not affected revenue of the pharmacies, the press service of the association has reported.

Some 15% respondents pointed out the increase in revenue from the participation in the program, while 31% of respondents mentioned the decrease in revenue.

Near 71.2% of respondents said that they do not have the full range of medicines that can be reimbursed.

"The lack of medicines at pharmacies is linked to their absence with manufacturers and distributors and the price set by them exceeding the price mentioned in the medicine reimbursement register," the association said.

According to the poll, 80% of respondents said that fund managers fail to pay them on time.

In addition, 6.7% of respondents said that the funds for medicines are partially reimbursed.
