The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has closed a case against Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railway's abuse of monopoly.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported that the decision was made at a committee meeting held on Thursday.

According to a press release issued at the meeting, Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railway from January 20 imposed an unfair commission fee on tickets for intercity trains worth UAH 12, and UAH 15 if the tickets were not used.

AMCU Head Oleksiy Kostusev said that Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railway fulfilled the recommendations of the committee issued on February 23 and set both fees at UAH 10.

He said that the cut of the fee would save passengers around UAH 35 million per year.
