Decision to increase utility service tariffs in Kyiv not final, says municipal economy ministry

The decision of Kyiv city administration to increase tariffs for hot running water and heat supplies from July 1, 2010 is not final, according to Municipal Economy Minister Oleksandr Popov.

"Yesterday, the tariffs were not approved, but were published for public discussion. Starting last week, we, jointly with the Economy Ministry, have been assessing them," he told the press before a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The minister said that the rates of the tariffs stipulated in the Kyiv city administration's resolution of May 31 could be altered.
