Licensed kinds of activity cut by more than half, says entrepreneurship committee head
The government has decided to reduce the number of licensed kinds of business activity in Ukraine by more than a half, Head of the State Committee of Ukraine for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Mykhailo Brodsky said in an article posted in the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly).
"We finally managed to make a breakthrough. At a meeting in the office of Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, the decision was taken to reduce the number of licensed kinds of activity by more than a half. The list of licenses for different kinds of activity will be also cut by almost one third," Brodsky said.
He also noted that the idea had little support from Ukrainian premiers, but Prime Minister Azarov had shown the determination to make decisions important for the economy.
According to Brodsky, the government will continue considering ways to simplify business activities in Ukraine.
