Only Eurocar produces passenger cars in Jan
Production of passenger cars in January 2017 tentatively grew by 34% year-over-year, to 300 cars, according to the Ukrautoprom association.
All cars were made private joint-stock company Eurocar (Zakarpattia region), the manufacturer of Skoda cars.
The association said on its website on Thursday that production of commercial vehicles fell by 7.8%, to 59 (all made at Zaporizhia Automobile Plant).
The association said that statistics does not include figures from public joint-stock company AvtoKrAZ compared to January 2016 statistics.
"Due to unclear reasons since August 2016 AvtoKrAZ closed information about production volumes," the association said.
A total of 35 buses were made in January 2017 and this was seven times more than in January 2016.
Vehicle output in January rose by 34.5%, to 394 vehicles.
As reported, in 2016 passenger car production in Ukraine fell by 23.2%, to 4,340 cars. Eurocar saw an almost 94% rise in car production, to 3,937 Skoda cars, while ZAZ cut production by 89%, to 403. Bus output fell by 64.2%, to 321.
