Groysman to appoint head of investment support office as his advisor

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman intends to appoint the head of the investment support office, which will be created in Ukraine soon, as his adviser.

"An investment support office under the prime minister will be created soon. The head of the office will be an advisor to the prime minister, which will show the importance for the government of the matter of attracting investment in Ukraine," the Ukrainian government reported referring to a meeting between Groysman and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker.

The prime minister also said the improvement of the business climate in Ukraine is a priority for the government, and noted the U.S. experience organizing such institutions.

The U.S. secretary of commerce handed to the Ukrainian premier the roadmap for the improvement of the business environment and climate in Ukraine, the work on which was launched by Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko and which was developed in cooperation with Ukrainian experts.

Groysman also met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew and discussed with him the situation in the Ukrainian banking sector and the possible measures to ensure financial stability in the country.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to set up a state agency to support investment.
