State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia is preparing for expected spring flooding, the railways' press service has reported.
The railways set up operational staffs at each of the six railways to take additional measures to protect sections of track that could be affected by flooding.
According to a company press release, Ukrzaliznytsia has identified the 440 sections of track most at risk from flooding this spring.
Inaddition, the railways has created an emergency reserve of construction materials to prevent track being washed away: 8,450 cubic meters of rubble, 12,800 cubic meters of road metal, and 2,830 cubic meters of sand.
