Construction of the Lviv stadium has been resumed, the press service of Lviv city council told Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
Construction work is being carried out on the whole site, while earlier construction was carried out only on one side of the site, the press service said.
"Today some 200 constructors are working at the site. Solid beams, which will be the supports for seats, are being assembled. A total of 68 beams will be built," said the acting director of the Directorate for Construction of Stadium municipal company, Roman Cherkas.
On November 19, 2009, Lviv city council (the customer of the stadium construction), OJSC Azovintex Company and Arena.Com signed a trilateral agreement.
According to the agreement, Arena.Com was selected as the leader in stadium design. Taking into account that Arena.Com is a foreign company, it signed subcontracts with two Ukrainian companies: Shymanovsky Research Institute for Steel Constructions and Arnika design company. At present, the design work is ahead of the schedule, while project solutions have been submitted to the chief constructor on time.
The press service said that at present 18% of the arena's skeleton is built. Preparation and land work has been completed, and the foundation and pillars of the first level have been built.
A representative of Azovintex on February 23 reported that work at the Lviv stadium had stopped, as the project had not been agreed.
