The Circuit Administrative Court of Kyiv has banned Ukraine's Interior Ministry and the State Department of the State Automobile Inspectorate under the Interior Ministry, as well as their officials from using the Vizir video recording speed meter until a normative and legal act is approved that gives officers the right to use the speed meter to detect and register violations of the traffic rules, reads a report posted on the Web site of the Yurydychna Praktyka (Practice of Law) newspaper.
The court satisfied an administrative suit of lawyer and representative of the Automobilist Council of Ukraine Tetiana Churikova and representative of the council Oleksiy Andronikov against Ukraine's Interior Ministry and the State Automobile Inspectorate regarding a ban on the use the Vizir video recording speed meter in Ukraine.
"The court ruled that the actions of Ukraine's Interior Ministry and the State Department of the State Automobile Inspectorate under the Ukrainian Interior Ministry were illegal regarding the use of the Vizir video recording speed meter to detect and register violations of the traffic rules," reads the newspaper's report.
