First deputy director of Broadcasting, Radio Communications and Television Concern appointed Ukrtelecom board chairman

The first deputy director general of the Broadcasting, Radio Communications and Television Concern, Oleh Kopiyka, has replaced Heorhiy Dzekon as board chairman of OJSC Ukrtelecom, according to Mykola Honchar, the head of the State Communications Administration.

He said at a briefing in Kyiv that the decision was made by the company's supervisory board at a meeting held on February 10.

He said that five out of eight board members supported the replacement of the board chairman.

He said that Kopiyka would be presented to the company's employees on Monday.

In turn, Ukrtelecom on Monday released an official report, according to which the board and the supervisory board do not have any official documents or other information regarding the taking of the said decision by the supervisory board.

"Heorhiy Dzekon is still board chairman of OJSC Ukrtelecom, a post to which he was elected on May 13, 2004," reads the document.
