Ukrzaliznytsia will be deprived of investment without raising freight tariffs in 2016 - Infrastructure Ministry

PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia won't get investment for its development in 2016 if tariffs on rail freight transportation are not raised by the planned 15%, Minister of Infrastructure Andriy Pyvovarsky has said at a meeting with rail goods producers.

"Last year we said that the planned investment for 2016 is UAH 10 billion, but amidst the ongoing discussions about the increase in tariffs Ukrzaliznytsia could be deprived of the funds. If tariffs are not raised, we won't even reach the level of investments in 2015," the minister said.

He once again stressed that it is necessary to establish the National Commission for Transport Regulation as soon as possible to settle the issue of tariff formation.
