Vehicle production in Ukraine in August 2015 tentatively fell by 77% compared to July 2015, to 193 units, which is also 56% down on August 2014 (444 units), the Ukrautoprom association has reported.
The association said that the situation is first linked to the fact that in August not a single passenger car was made, while in July 2015 625 cars were made (including 319 cars at Zaporizhia Automobile Plant and 306 at Eurocar plant), and 189 cars were made in August 2014.
A total of 136 commercial vehicles were made in August, which is 3.5% down on July and 11% down on August 2014, and 57 buses were produced – 27% and 44% down respectively.
In January-August 2015, 4,218 vehicles were made in Ukraine, which is 83% down year-over-year (in January-July 2015 the decline was 83.5%).
Passenger car production fell by over 87%, to 2,914 and bus production – by 39%, to 383 units.
Commercial vehicle output fell by 18.6%, to 921 thanks to operation of public joint-stock company AvtoKrAZ which boosted truck production by 15%, to 843.
