Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he supports demonopolization in key state activities.
"We should make a political decision to restrict the largest share of 50% on concrete markets and 30% in the most important sectors. These new rules should split monopolists. We can give them the following choice: to obey tough regulation or sell their shares," Poroshenko said while addressing the parliament in his annual speech on Thursday.
He added that 80% of heating generation is held in one pair of hands, and that relevant committee members say without batting an eyelid that there is no monopoly.
