The Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine has predicted that grain exports in 2014/15 agricultural year (July-June) will total around 32 million tonnes.
"We see exports of around 30-32 million tonnes. We had delays with shipments of corn. We worry that now a large amount of corn will enter the market in the last moment," Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.
He said that earlier the ministry held a meeting with the Infrastructure Ministry on the logistics provision of exports.
Pavlenko said that the infrastructure is ready for handling the said amount of grain for exports.
He said that many farmers held corn waiting for the better price and now they will actively sell it to replenish working capital for the spring campaign.
