Gaz Ukrainy, the subsidiary of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy, on April 28 filed a claim regarding the causing of losses in the amount of UAH 5.7 billion by enterprises of Ostchem Group, the press service of the holding told Interfax-Ukraine.
The press service said that the sum consists of a debt for gas supplied by Gaz Ukrainy to Ostchem's enterprises in 2010-2011 and revenues that the company has not received. Rivneazot owes UAH 1 billion of the debt and UAH 700 million of non-received revenues, Cherkasy Azot – UAH 500 million and UAH 400 million respectively, Stirol Concern (Horlivka, Donetsk region) – UAH 1 billion and UAH 700 million and Severodonetsk Azot – UAH 800 million and UAH 600 million.
Naftogaz said that Pechersky District court of Kyiv upheld the request of investigators to arrest 499.1 million cubic meters of gas stored in underground storage facilities of public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz and belonged to Ostchem's enterprises: 442.2 million cubic meters of gas belonged to Severodonetsk Azot, 49.4 million cubic meters of gas belonged to Rivneazot, 7.5 million cubic meters of gas belonged to Stirol and 100 cubic meters of gas belonged to Cherkasy Azot were arrested.
The court obliged Ukrtransgaz to store natural gas and banned anyone from managing this amount of gas, including sale and transfer of gas.
The cost of gas arrested is UAH 3.6 billion, according to the prices set by the the National Commission of Ukraine for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER).
