Ukraine's gross forex reserves could expand to $18.2 billion by late 2015 and to $25.4 billion by late 2016, according to forecast of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) posted in the inflation report on its website.
"In 2015, the consolidated balance of payment would have a surplus of $2 billion, $10 billion would arrive from the IMF [International Monetary Fund], which would ensure growth of forex reserves to $18.2 billion [$3.8 billion of net international reserves] or 3.7 month of future imports," reads the report.
As reported, Ukraine's international reserves fell by 12.4% in February, to $5.625 billion, the minimum figure since June 2003.
The first disbursement of $5 billion under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) of the IMF for Ukraine arrived on March 13.
