Ukrainian insurance companies increased premium collections under mandatory insurance of motor vehicles owners' civil liability (OSAGO) policies by 14.8% in January-February 2015 year-over-year, to UAH 380.2 million.
According to a post on the website of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine’s (MTIBU), total payments in claims under internal insurance agreements over the reporting period reached UAH 151.8 million (9% down from a year ago). Payments in claims using the European accident statement form rose by 41.4%, to UAH 7.85 million.
OSAGO policy sales fell by 15.4%, to UAH 1 million.
MTIBU said that in January-February 2015 insurers settled 14,182 insurance events, which was 22.7% down year-over-year, including 1,400 events settled using the European accident statement form, which was 29.8% up year-over-year.
Today, 62 insurance companies are members of MTIBU.
